If you are getting your bathroom renovated or simply stuck with what style to go with, it’s time to take the next step. This year it’s all about uplifting your home, be it with simple additions of elements, to overall new look for your space.
So let’s get you inspired with some Trending Bathroom Ideas that will change the look of your home from ordinary to extra-ordinary!!
1. Give it a Focal Point
Focus the basin area as it’s the most frequently used space in a bathroom.
Use your highlight tile here for it to add more interest. Give it a try, I know you would argue on how expensive highlighter tiles are, and you don’t want to waste it with mirror placed on top. And how you love the no visual obstruction when selecting areas for highlighters. But trust me, it is what you approach first and more often in the space, so you want it welcoming each time revisited. Set it as your focal, and see how it uplifts the space for you!
Tip: You could use the highlighter on the entire wall where your wash basin is, or simply go with your counter size end to end, to get the most of it. Check the inspirations below 🙂
2. Explore Colors
Playing safe with bathrooms has always been our priority, as we can not afford to change the look again and again, this has narrowed the color palette to neutrals for a long time now.
This year, it’s going to be love for colors and experimentation. Reds, Greens, Navy blues, Blacks are going to be the top picks in colors.
Tip: You can slowly enter this trend by using colors in specific areas only. Such as basin Bowl, cabinets, light fixture, art to start with. Remember everything needs a starting point! 🙂
3. Mixed Style
A little of modern, industrial, vintage, is going to be trending this year when it comes to bathrooms. A good blend of styles create an interesting space, than just running one style through and through. Check out few of the inspiration below and you will know why.. 🙂
4. Use Exotic Tiles
Tile selection could be overwhelming to get the right match keeping the color scheme in mind, making the process easier, try to invest in one exotic tile, and keep the rest with simple base tile. It will give your bathroom the required elegance and pop of color. This way it will help you slip into the trends easily, and start into experimenting with elements to create your #Dreamhome 🙂
5. Get Creative with Mirrors
Bye-Bye to those end to end mirrors that has been overly used all these years. Add Instant drama with creative mirror, from abstract to round edges, it will surely add visual change. Check the inspiration below to get the look of it. 🙂
6. Add a Statement Light Fixture
Having a statement chandelier/ Pendant lights in you bathroom will level up the game for you.
Choose one that goes with your style from industrial to modern to vintage looking (mixed style could be introduced by a light fixture too, as discussed above), this will add elegance and character to your space.
7. Exposed Hardware
Enclosed hardware’s are switched to Exposed ones this year! Give it a try, each detail adds to the overall experience of the space. It will balance your space, also will add color.
Brass, Antique Bronze, Gold and Nickle are going to be the hardware finishes for the year!
8. Make use of Wallpapers
Why not? Wallpapers are a great way to introduce character to your Powder Room. Apply it on the basin wall as it’s the focal point, you want to experience it the most when inside the room.
Tip: You could cover 6″ with tile to prevent water splashes. (Check out the Inspiration below)
Note: Powder room is a small space so you could think of changing how it looks, and wallpaper is a great option to go for (with semi tiled area) as it could be changed whenever needed to instantly change the look.
9. Go for the Vertical Greens/ Add Plants
Green wall is totally in for bathrooms, take a look at the inspirations on where can you use them. Vertical greens should be Pre-Planned on its location and area of use before tiling your bath-space.
If your bathroom is recently done, you can still add a plant if you got the space!
Master bath could incorporate this Trend right away. Plants complement each element in the room, creating your bath the perfect oasis! Potted plants placed on the shelves or even basin counter tops instantly adds value.
Note: Artificial greens to be opted for less maintenance and perfect look if you have inadequate light in your space. 🙂
10. Give it your Personal Touch
Powder room or even Bathroom can become too boring with just tile or wallpaper covered walls. Why not add hand picked or handmade art piece onto the walls to make it more personalized. If nothing feels right, quotes are a great way to start with! 🙂
