Today we would be talking about Entryway.

So lets begin…

Entryway is the first thing approached in any Interior space, so it holds a lot of importance in making your first impression. Let’s see how can we achieve a fresh look in the most welcoming space.

     1. DE-CLUTTER

Get rid of unnecessary items that generally clutters the entrance as its the most used space, its bound to be cluttered fast if not taken care of. Remove any item that you feel serves no purpose, to start making it look spacious and fresh.

     2. SET THE TABLE

You may have a console table or even a shoe cabinet that is the first furniture piece visible, we need to tackle that first!

First things first, know your piece, means .. you need to know the style of your furniture to top it up. Make sure your choice of decor blends in well with the center piece (i.e your table). You do not want to over crowd the space neither want to leave it empty.

Trick here is, heavier the furniture, lighter the decor or vice versa ! Overall it should be a visual treat 🙂

Decorative candle holders (with candles), picture frames, decorative bowls (to hold your knick-knack), piece of 3-D art, flower vase, decorative lanterns, table lamps, to name a few.

Psst.. Subscribe to my newsletter to be notified on “How to set a console table” (Future Post)

     3. ADD A BENCH/CHAIR

Having a bench or a chair (anything to sit upon) helps a lot for taking off or putting on shoes. Not only that, it helps in adding value to your space both functionally and visually.

Tip: Place a carpet/ rug beneath for added comfort ! 🙂 🙂

      4. USE VERTICAL SPACE TO ENHANCE THE LOOK

Having a blank wall would not really help in achieving the best of your space. Knowing entrance is the first thing we see, it should silently tell us your story. Adding something on wall that goes along the decor or simply a pop art could add character and color to the space instantly. If you are an artist, its the best place you could display your work!! 😉

Tip: If your entrance is narrow, use of wide mirror on one wall would make the space look bigger visually. 🙂

     5. ADD THE NECESSARIES

Having the necessary items around would make your guest(s) feel comfortable. For this area you could have, key holder, a coat rack, basket holding umbrella(s), a shoe tray, or anything you feel might be useful for a pleasant experience.

     6. FILL IT WITH SUBTLE FRAGRANCE

You could choose between fresh flowers, aromatic candles, oil diffusers, potpourri or few spritz of room freshener to fill in the air with fragrance that calms the senses while entering. 🙂

Note: You may find few points repeating, it is because it carries a lot of importance in representing your personal space.

Also, this content is to share with you what all possible things you could do(guidelines) in preparing your home for your Guest(s); I do not promote you must follow any or all of the above in any case to become the best host. As welcoming guests in itself is a trait of a leader host.

With this we have completed our very first series 🙂

I had a very good time creating these articles for you, it was a great process where I myself got to learn little tricks to fix a place for any one visiting my personal space.

Hoping this series was something of your interest and maybe you took away few tips to fix your’s too, it would mean the world to me if you did ! 🙂

Let me know in the comment section below, what next would you love to know about interiors? 🙂

See you in the next one! 🙂

Till then a very Happy Diwali to all my readers, have fun play safe!! 🙂 🙂
